Hey there! Welcome to Nutritious.com! I’m Kim, mother of two, DIY enthusiast, and avid cooker/baker! My family and I are all huge foodies – we love to explore, taste, and create all kinds of recipes, and we’re here to share our love of good food with you!
We emphasize living a balanced, healthy lifestyle, so here on Nutritious.com you’ll find a variety of recipes that are nutritious and good-for-you (and delicious too!), as well as recipes that may not be the most nourishing, but are delicious and eaten as treats every once in a while 😉
As a mom, I’m always looking for creative ways to take my kids’ not-so-healthy foods (like chips, oh goodness do my kids LOVE to eat chips), and make healthier, just-as-delicious versions of them. And now even my kids join in on the recipe creation – often when we’re at a restaurant, or out and about and trying new foods, they talk about ways we can recreate a healthier version of the dish at home! They’re so excited about going home and testing new recipes (and also making a mess of the kitchen).
From quick & healthy 15-minute recipes, to yummy comfort food for those much needed “me” days, we at Nutritious.com are here to help you live a healthy, balanced life full of delicious, feel-good food! All the recipes you find on Nutritious.com have been family tested and approved.. and even picky-eater approved (my teriyaki chicken recipe has been a winner on every playdate my kids have had with a picky-eater)!
And many of the recipes you will find on Nutritious.com can be adapted for various lifestyles and diets!
In my family, we have a wide variety of eaters. My husband suddenly decided to go pescatarian 3 years ago for health reasons, while my youngest daughter just loves a good steak dinner. And my eldest daughter keeps flip-flopping between plant-based, pescatarian, and flexitarian. While I’m more flexible with my diet, I often have to cook and adapt recipes to satisfy the whole family (which sometimes means cooking vegetarian/non-vegetarian versions of the same recipe at the same time).
So, on Nutritious.com you’ll find that many of these recipes are what I call, “Flexible Recipes.” These recipes can be adapted to a variety of diets, whether it be vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, or flexitarian! These are all ways I’ve learned to adapt some of my favorite recipes, so that the whole family can enjoy them. Because for us, food is much more than just fuel – it’s a part of our culture, and an opportunity for the whole family to bond and make memories.
Anyhow, welcome to our blog! Come join me and my family as we go on this adventure to explore and create nutritious and delicious foods 😊
